QueerTech Qonference, Montréal, 2023

QT Qonference 2023 marked QueerTech’s biggest event yet – and the 2SLGBTQ+ tech community’s appetite for connection, growth and empowerment is only growing. The second annual event welcomed over 500 attendees for 78 sessions, delivered across two venues. This year, sessions were divided into four specialized content tracks – technology, leadership, mental health/wellness, and entrepreneurship – to ensure each attendee received tailored, applicable support for their personal role within the ecosystem.

Fundraiser Gala x The Regent Theatre Foundation, Prince Edward County, 2023

The guests enjoyed a 1920s-themed dinner and dance on the Regent stage of the 105-year-old theatre. The gala raised money to repair the theatre’s heritage marquee.

Dignity Network Canada Roundtable Meetings, Ottawa, 2022

Over two days, over 130 people from civil society organizations from across Canada and around the world met in Ottawa to discuss Canada’s role in the world in advancing the human rights of LGBTQI people.
The event was a forum for civil society groups to collaborate, network and learn together and was a partnership with Equitas-International Centre for Human Rights Education and the Act Together for Inclusion Fund (ACTIF).

The 12th World Conference of Science Journalists (WCSJ) was held in Medellín, Colombia, and was a significant global event that brought together hundreds of science journalists, communicators, and experts from around the world. The conference attracted approximately 1,200 participants from 51 countries and included workshops, seminars, lectures, field trips, and networking opportunities on various topics related to science journalism and communication.

The conference was unique in that it was the first time the WCSJ was held in the Global South, which highlighted the challenges and opportunities for science journalism in this region. The meeting took place at the Jardin Botánico, a 13-hectare forest in the heart of Medellín.
